Liability Consultants Claim Examples
Claims Made Coverage
For
a claim to be covered insurance must be in place at the time the
claim is made. It is not sufficient for coverage to exist at
the time professional services are provided.
Management
Consultant
- After issues between a
manufacturing company and one of their clients continued
to grow, a management consultant was retained to make
recommendations to improve the relationship. However the
relationship continued to deteriorate and was ultimately
severed. The manufacturer sued the consultant for lost
profits and for fees paid, claiming their efforts were
substandard and that its actions actually contributed to
the demise of the relationship.

evaluate building safety codes and procedures. Claimant alleged

procedures that needed to be in place, resulting in an ordinance
violation that closed the store. The suspension of operations
caused the client considerable monetary loss.
Marketing
Consultant

public relations consultant agreed to develop and
implement a media campaign for an association of small
business owners who were sponsoring a community fair.

of the fair and potential business lost.

manage a survey project. The insured mishandled the project,
resulting in the loss of data necessitating that the study be

monetary loss to the school as they would have to pay for data
recovery services and the cost of performing the study again
.Computer
Consultant

was hired by a client to develop company guidelines.
These guidelines were to include continued medical

the human resources consultant. They claimed the
bulletin was ambiguous and was the reason the medical
benefits were denied.
